The SEO industry is an oft-maligned industry due to the fact that many people have been left with a bitter taste of dissappointment. Many people have invested a lot of money and some time in SEO services, but have got very little in return. Some of this might have to do with managing expectations. Rip-Off #1 - Not providing Position Reports
The whole purpose of providing Search Engine Optimisation services to anyone is to help increase their website's search engine rankings on the chosen search engines. One of the most basic things SEO companies should be doing is providing reports to the client on their website's search engine rankings. At the very least, the report should contain the targetted keywords or phrases, the search engines being targetted and the ranking of the website.
